Risktec opens for Business in Kuala Lumpur

Commissioning of new helideck fire fighting facility
We are pleased to announce the recent commissioning of our new realistic helideck fire fighting facility. The large 8m x 8m structure is located at our Johor Fire & Emergency Response center which is fully equipped with a mock up helicopter simulator. IWCF / IADC Drilling courses now offered at MSTS Malaysia
MSTS is pleased to announce the availability of IWCF and IADC WellCAP well control and well intervention courses at their training facilities in Johor Bahru.

The courses, which are offered jointly with Rigtrain (UK) a subsidiary of Weatherford make MSTS one of only a few centers in Asia offering this type of training. The first WellCAP course was successfully launched in January this year for a group of drillers and assistant drillers from Tioman drilling and a further 5 courses have been planned for the first half of this year. MSTS ASIA (Nutec) launches new center in Malaysia
MSTS Asia Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Nutec Global new US$1.5 million purpose built training center was officially launched on Thursday 26th September offering Nutec’s clients Internationally approved training in the Far East region.


The state of the art center which was opened due to market demand was officially opened by Malysian Minister of Human Resources Datuk Fong Chan Onn in front of more than 450 guests whichincluded a number of Nutec’s European customers whom had made the long haul from Europe. (Nov, 2002)

Our new Fire and Emergency Training Center (FET)
The training barge will be complemented by a fire and emergency response training complex located in the vicinity. the comprehensive fire training complex will comprise a large fire and smoke house simulating offshore and marine structures, industrial processing areas as well as individual facilities of all types of basic and advanced fire and emergency training.

Each center will have its own dedicated classrooms fully equipped with multimedia facilities, shower and changing rooms, cafeteria and other amenties. (Nov, 2001)

Our new fully integrated purpose built training barge
This purpose built training barge for safety and survival training comes complete with modern facilities such as the most advanced and  up-to-date helicopter underwater escape training (HUET) simulator, swimming pool and survival training facility, totally enclosed lifeboats, resue crafts, a wide range of latest training equipment / appliances and an impressive free fall lifeboats.

This novel concept of utilizing a training barge will add a new dimension to the level of realism in training. Apart from having all courses conducted onboard the barge, other courses such as lifeboat coxswain and fast recue / man overboard will take place in realistic enviroment. (Nov, 2001)

New facilities in Johor Bahru
Due to increase in demand MSTS has recently made significant investments in new facilities in Johor Bahru just across the causeway from Singapore. The fully integrated centers will comprise a purpose built training barge and Fire and Emergency Training (FET) facility. The barge will have the latest equipment including free fall lifeboat and top-of-the-range Helicopter Underwater Escape Trainer (HUET) whilst FET will have the most comprehensive training facilities for basic and advanced programs. Both centers will begin opaeration in december 2001.

Merger of Nutec and MTC Holland

On Friday the 15th. of September Nutec and MTC Holland merged. Jointly we are now in a much better position to serve our clients so that their need for cost efficient safety- and emergency response training is well taken care of.

Statoil and Norsk Hydro have been the main shareholders of Nutec since 1981. During this period they have contributed to developing Nutec to become the market leader within it field and to become an attractive co-operation partner for our clients in Norway and UK. Mr. Jan Hart, the owner of MTC (Maritiem Trainingscentrum) in Holland, ABN AMRO Bank, Holland and a group of private investors have now taken over Statoil’s and Norsk Hydro’s shares in Nutec.
